They are responsible for delivering a wide range of public services to residents across a largely rural and coastal area. The council focuses on maintaining high-quality services such as waste collection, planning, housing, and environmental protection. It places strong emphasis on sustainability, community empowerment, and digital inclusion, aiming to support both economic growth and environmental stewardship. Following the end of the Council's current cleaning contract which is due to expire March 31st 2027, the Council is inviting tenders to bid on a new contract for this going forward.[E6]
