Die Ausschreibung beinhaltet die Planung zur Neugestaltung des Hamm-Brücher-Platzes am Marburger Südbahnhof, der aktuell und zukünftig als ein zentraler Omnibusbahnhof (ZOB) genutzt wird. Der Hamm-Brücher-Platz hat im Übergang zwischen Schienen- und Busverkehr und als Umsteigehaltestelle eine entscheidende Bedeutung für den Öffentlichen Personennahverkehr in Marburg. Der ZOB soll als ein Mobility Hub mit einer übersichtlichen und nachvollziehbaren Steuerung aller Verkehrsteilnehmenden realisiert werden. Die Umgestaltung der Verkehrsanlagen steht in unmittelbarem Zusammenhang zum geplanten Ersatzneubau des Hamm-Brücher-Stegs, der Südbahnhof und ZOB über die Gleisanlagen der Main-Weser-Bahn und die Bundesstraße 3 mit der Kernstadt sowie Bus-Umsteigehaltestellen untereinander verbindet. Bestandteil der Planung ist die landschaftsarchitektonische Einbindung der Verkehrsanlagen in die Übergangsbereiche zwischen Hamm-Brücher-Steg und Grünraum. Die Stadt Marburg hat im Jahr 2025 eine Machbarkeitsstudie und Planung erstellen lassen, um die Kosten und den Aufwand für den barrierefreien Ersatzneubau des Stegs zu ermitteln und mögliche Fördermöglichkeiten sowie die zukünftige Zusammenarbeit mit der Deutschen Bahn und Hessen Mobil zu eruieren. Im Rahmen dieser Untersuchungen und Planungen wurde der ZOB ebenfalls bearbeitet. Die weiteren Planungen sollen auf diesen Ergebnissen aufbauen. Die Bauausführung des Hamm-Brücher-Plates muss zeitlich und logistisch auch auf den Bau des Hamm-Brücher-Steges abgestimmt werden. Die Bearbeitung hat unmittelbar nach Auftragserteilung zu beginnen.
