Con el presente contrato se pretenden cubrir las necesidades del Servicio de Microscopia Electrónica en el campo de la optoacústica y los ultrasonidos. El SME no dispone en la actualidad de esta modalidad de imagen. Este equipo permitirá obtener imágenes tridimensionales moleculares y funcionales mediante la combinación sincronizada de excitación óptica láser pulsada y detección ultrasónica de alta resolución, incorporando una tecnología complementaria a la microscopía electrónica y óptica ya existente en la institución.[E8]
